Senior School Open Mornings

Years 9-13

Our Open Mornings begin with a pupil-led tour of our expansive Senior School campus within the picturesque village of Sedbergh. They include the opportunity to meet the Headmaster, a range of pupils, and members of our academic and boarding staff. Our aim is to provide an insight into life at the Senior School and to show how we bring out the best in every child by highlighting our broad and exciting curriculum, unrivalled co-curricular programme, and unique boarding environment.

Prep School Open Mornings

Pre-School – Year 8

During our Open Mornings, visitors are invited to experience a typical school day by observing everyday lessons in action. Our Year 8 pupil guides endeavour to show how we instil a sense of adventure in our youngest Sedberghians, both in and beyond the classroom. You might see Pre-Prep pupils tackling maths outdoors, watch pupils guide a plane to land on the flight simulator, or observe specialist coaches working with our sports scholars.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet our Head, plus members of our academic and boarding team.

Next Open Mornings: Monday 28th September to Friday 2nd October, each day from 10.00 – 12.00.

Private Tours

We would be delighted to arrange a one-on-one tour of our school campuses, either led by one of our pupils or by a member of our Admissions team. During the tour, our pupils will be eager to share their experiences—whether as boarders at the Senior School or pupils at the Prep School. Tours typically conclude with a personal meeting with a senior pastoral or academic member of staff, or with the School Head or Headmaster.

School and Boarding Taster

After you’ve visited either our Casterton or Sedbergh campus, prospective pupils are welcome to come for a taster of the school. Day pupils can attend for a day and boarding pupils can experience a glimpse into the enriching environment that has resulted in boarding being recognised as a significant strength (ISI, 2025) and our Senior School the number one ‘full boarding’ school in the North of England. Boarding Tasters last 24 or 48 hours.

During our Boarding Tasters, pupils dive into the heart of Sedbergh’s community, immersing themselves in school lessons, boarding activities, and our unique in-house dining experience. Depending upon the day chosen, pupils will engage in a variety of lessons, while also enjoying the camaraderie of our boarding community.

Evenings can include a diverse range of activities and social events, ensuring that every moment at Sedbergh is filled with opportunities for growth, friendship, and fun.
