The School Day
No day at Sedbergh Prep School is the same!

| PRE-PREP SCHOOL DAY (RECEPTION, YEAR 1 AND YEAR 2) | |

| 8.15 am onwards | ARRIVAL and REGISTRATION Arrive at Pre-Prep. Hang coat, bags etc on coat hook. Leave book bag in trolley in classroom. |
| 8.30 am | LESSONS and ACTIVITIES begin Class time, indoors and outdoors, which includes adult led and child initiated activities. |
| 9.40 am | SNACK and PLAYTIME The children have a snack of milk/water with a baked item and fruit. The children then have outdoor play on the adventure playground and tennis courts. |
| 10.15 am | LESSONS and ACTIVITIES Class time, indoors and outdoors, which includes both adult led and child initiated activities. |
| 12.35 pm | LUNCH and PLAYTIME Cooked lunch in dining room, followed by outdoor play. Lunch is a hot meal and pudding with water to drink. All food is freshly prepared in the Main School kitchens. |
| 1.55 pm | ASSEMBLIES or FORM TIME (including House Assemblies) |
| 2.15 pm | AFTERNOON SESSION Class time, indoors and outdoors, which includes adult led and child initiated activities. |
| 3.20 pm | SNACK AND AFTERNOON BREAK. Pre-Prep children may be collected at this time if they are not attending the after school clubs. |
| 3.45 pm | AFTERNOON ACTIVITY CLUBS (example clubs include music, art, craft, outdoor activities, construction and sports club). |
| 5.00 pm | END OF THE DAY When the children are picked up, each child must be signed out with the member of staff on duty. School buses depart from 5.10 pm. |
Please note the following:
- The timetable changes slightly on a Friday to allow for a whole School Chapel service in the morning.
- Breakfast Club is available from 7.30 am and day pupils can book in for supper, which is available for our younger pupils at 5.00 pm. Both of these carry a small additional charge.

| 8.15 am onwards | ARRIVAL and REGISTRATION Arrive at Pre-Prep. Sports training sessions take place 4 mornings per week, prior to School starting, and are available to both day pupils and boarders. These include hockey, netball, cricket, running, swimming and athletics (season and age dependent). |
| 8.30 am | ACADEMIC LESSONS |
| 9.40 am | SNACK and PLAYTIME The children have a snack of milk/water and a choice of a snack bar or fruit. The children then have playtime either outdoors or in the Sports Hall. Morning break on a Wednesday is slightly shorter to allow for travel to sporting fixtures as required. |
| 10.15 am | ACADEMIC LESSONS |
| 12.35 pm | LUNCH and BREAK. Cooked lunch in dining room, served in three sittings, either followed or preceded by break time. Lunch is a hot meal and dessert with water to drink. Fruit is also available. All food is freshly prepared in the School kitchens. A range of activities are available during afternoon break times which the children can sign up to. |

| 2.15 pm | AFTERNOON SESSION Academic lessons resume. |
| 3.25 pm | SNACK AND AFTERNOON BREAK |
| 3.45 pm | GAMES on WEDNESDAYS and ACTIVITY CLUBS on FRIDAYS |
| 4.55 pm | END OF SCHOOL. School buses depart from 5.10 pm – further bus route information can be found below. |
| 5.00 - 6.10pm | BOARDERS' SUPPER (Years 3 to 6) followed by PREP |
| 5.00 - 6.20pm | BOARDERS' PREP (Years 7 & 8) followed by SUPPER |
| 6.40 pm | BOARDERS’ ACTIVITIES and EVENING PROGRAMME |
Please note the following:
- The timetable changes slightly on a Friday to allow for a whole School Chapel service in the morning.
- On Wednesday afternoon’s when a child is not involved in a fixture, they have the option of leaving at 4.00pm
- Saturday School for Years 7 & 8 follows the same timings, however children can be collected at 3.30pm, if there is no fixture, or after their fixture, as applicable
- Breakfast Club is available from 7.30 am and day pupils can book in for supper. Both of these carry a small additional charge.
