At the Prep School, all pupils in Years 7 and 8 have Saturday school which includes morning lessons followed by games and fixtures in the afternoon. Saturday evening offers an opportunity to relax in house and on Sundays, children take part in a wide range of weekend adventures including climbing, canoeing, cinema trips and bowling, which are open to all.
At the Senior School, 98% of boarders are full boarding, therefore weekends are busy with Saturday morning lessons, followed by activities, sports and socials.
Every child is different. Some take to boarding life straight away, while others may need a little more time to adjust – and that’s perfectly normal.
Rest assured, our experienced and caring staff are here to support both you and your child throughout the transition. Their wellbeing and happiness are our top priorities.
The school provides transport to predetermined drop-off or collection points at the start and end of term including half terms and exeat weekends.
All uniform is ordered through the School Blazer website and can be delivered directly to your child’s boarding house.
We would recommend Sedbergh to any family considering boarding education. The house has a really family feel and is the perfect size for lots of friends but a close-knit group. With CEA, boarding at Sedbergh is very affordable and we are delighted that we are able to offer our child such an exceptional and joyful education while I continue with my military career.
Families eligible for the full CEA allowance will only be required to pay 10% of the Sedbergh School gross full boarding fee (Parental Contribution).
Please note that additional costs, such as music lessons, SEN support, and other optional extras are not included when calculating the 10% Parental Contribution.
