OS Kane James makes Senior International Debut for Wales
Congratulations to Old Sedberghian Kane James (S 21-23) who made his senior international debut last weekend for Wales against Argentina.
James came off the bench with just under 15 minutes to play, joining fellow Old Sedberghian James Botham (E 11-16) who was making his 22nd appearance for Wales.
In an interview in the days leading up the game, Wales Head Coach Steve Tandy described Kane as ‘an exciting player’ and “He creates a big energy in how he goes about his work; he’s super diligent around everything, taking on the detail.”
Kane joined Sedbergh as an Academic and Sport Scholar, excelling in both the classroom and on the rugby pitch, as well as being a talented sprint hurdler. Kane rounded off his time at Sedbergh being named ‘Sportsman of the Year’ in his final year.
As well as playing alongside Old Sedberghians for his country, Kane is joined at Exeter Chiefs by another Sedberghian, Will Haydon-Wood (P14-19) who this year signed a new deal with the club. Both Will & Kane were winners at the Chiefs End of Season Awards, winning Club Man of the Year and Community Player of the Year respectively.
