Meet the Housemaster: Mr Annett
Having previous lived and worked in Sedgwick House as a resident tutor for four years between 2014-2018, Jordan Annett has returned to the House with his wife Florencia to undertake the role of Housemaster.
Florencia has travelled the world playing professional hockey after representing Argentina originally and she met Jordan whilst he was teaching Physical Education at Dulwich College in London. She is fully immersed in school life, managing the Hirst Centre whilst coaching hockey and running community wellness services.
Originating from Northern Ireland, Jordan attended Loughborough University to study Sports Science and Management. A sports coaching diploma and PGCE have followed since being employed by Sedbergh as a sports graduate in 2014. He is driven by developing the boys in his care across all elements of their school life but ultimately has seen first hand the impact that a positive house environment can have on the individuals that grow up within it.
The sense of community, amazing physical environment and ambitious approach of the school have all cemented Sedbergh as a place where Jordan and Florencia feel at home.
Despite both being deeply passionate about sport and fitness, they both understand that the real value of these pursuits lies within how they can bring people together. Their main focus is to bring high amounts of energy and warmth to the boarding house environment, using their personal experiences of a family-focused upbringing to get the best out of every pupil in their care.
