Established in 2022, The Schools Championships (TSC) sees some of the best rugby schools in the country battle it out to be named champion in December. Brothers in Arms: Captain James with Head Coach Sam

Head Coach, Sam Moore, said; “Winning the TSC Championship in my first season is something I’m immensely proud of, but the credit sits firmly with the playing group who have committed themselves so fully throughout the season. Being crowned champions on Busk makes it a special moment for the everyone here at Sedbergh.

From the outset, our programme has been built around player development, not chasing results but chasing our best. The aim is to help each individual grow, enjoy their rugby, and fulfil their potential. If we do that well, success will hopefully follow as a natural outcome. The future here at Sedbergh is exciting!”
Sedbergh School Headmaster, Mr Dan Harrison, said; “I am delighted for the boys and the coaches. They thoroughly deserve to win this cup – they have played attractive rugby all season and finished on a real high. As a school we are very proud.”
Sedbergh sealed their first TSC trophy with an excellent display at home against Millfield, which saw Sedbergh convert four tries in the first half to lead 28-0 at half time. Sedbergh came out in the second half and picked up where they left off, stretching out to a 40 point lead. Millfield showed immense character to begin their fightback, producing three well-deserved tries in the final quarter of the game, but the damage had already been done and the pulsating encounter ended 40-19. Across the 6 TSC fixtures, Sedbergh scored 272 points (Ave. 45 points a game) which is the result of their free-flowing, ambitious and open attacking play. The only blemish on their record during the TSC campaign came against Wellington College, narrowly losing 17-20 at Broadstreet RUFC.
