ANNOUNCEMENT: Chief Operating Officer

After a rigorous selection process culminating in two days of extensive meetings and interviews last week, we are pleased to announce that Barry Bennett will become the Chief Operating Officer of Sedbergh from 14 April 2025 to succeed Peter Marshall as he retires from the role.

Barry, known as Baz, joined the British Army as a soldier, ultimately training at Sandhurst and commissioning into the Royal Artillery. Following a long period of service as an Officer and leaving as a Brigadier, Baz joined Lord Wandsworth College in Hampshire as Chief Operating Officer in January 2021.

Having educated his daughter Sally at Sedbergh, Baz knows the School well and is fully committed to Sedbergh’s ethos, values and brand of education.

We look forward to Baz and his wife, Shona, joining the School community in April 2025.
